Every day, from open to close, Newtown locals queue up at this little café on Australia Street for some of the best coffee in Sydney. All of Tobin Ventham’s coffee beans are roasted under the Loggerhead Coffee Co label and only local firms such as Bella Brutta and Ciccone and Sons receive them. This is as small-batch as it gets, in other words. Pro tip: beans are freshly roasted on Wednesdays, so place your order ahead of time for maximum freshness.

Loved it! Great little cafe not far from Newtown station (if you are around the area). The service was friendly and the food was delicious. The only thing that I would change would be the saltiness of the white sausage. Slightly overpowered the meal for me. That said, that’s personal preference and not a reflection on the cafe. 5/5 stars for sure.

These folks take their work seriously, and they’ve always got an interesting blend of coffees from all around the world on the go, all of which are freshly roasted on classic German roasters and promote transparency and sustainability. The store also includes a variety of other beans as well as four different bag types, all available in bulk.

Went there in the morning, coffee was good, food was good. Would wanna go back again. They have a bunch of beans that they roast by themselves I believe. I had a sensational ‘autumn salad’ and a very good coffee. It’s an uber cool, buzzy space. One waiter was rude and made me feel like an inconvenience. He did his best to avoid my attempts to order. The other waiter was an absolute delight. She was charming and friendly.
