Art Jamming Myths
Art Jamming is an art form that has only been around for a few decades. It was developed by art educators and artists in the 1970s as a way to increase creativity, and it has exploded in popularity since then. However, there are still some myths and misconceptions about Art Jamming Singapore that we would like to dispel today!
Myth 1: There are no ‘legit’ art techniques in Art Jamming Workshop.
Art Jamming is a fun and relaxing activity and many think that this is what Art Jamming is all about – simply having fun. Well, there are actually ‘legit’ art techniques that can be used in Art Jamming!
In our Art Jamming workshops, our facilitators will go through art theory such as the colour wheel and basic brush stroke techniques. These are actually legitimate art techniques that participants can use for their Art Jamming masterpieces!
Myth 2: It is impossible to bond with team members in Art Jamming.
Many people have the misconception that Art Jamming is not a good team building activity as participants will just be immersed in their own artworks. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth!
In our Art Jamming workshops, participants will be able to seek help and discuss their paintings with their team members. We also have different packages available that allow participants to work on a group artwork together, or put their individual artworks together to create one giant group painting!
There may also be a storytelling aspect of the workshop, where participants will share about their art pieces, thus getting to know each other better and increasing the team building experience!
Myth 3: You need to be artsy to take part in Art Jamming.
You do not have to be artsy or have a prior background in art to participate in Art Jamming. Our facilitator will go through basic art theory and brush stroke techniques at the start of our workshops, so all you need to do is come with an open mind and a little bit of creativity!
Myth 4: You will feel left out if you are not good at Art.
That’s not true! As we’ve mentioned before, our facilitator will ensure that basic art theory and brush stroke techniques are taught to all participants, regardless of experience level. Participants will also be able to seek help and guidance from our facilitators! We want everyone to feel included and enjoy their Art Jamming session!
