Foods are everywhere and there’s a 7-11 right around the corner! I booked the great suite and the bathtub is really worth it. Although some say bathtub is dangerous for kids, but for this case, the bathtub is big and there are lots of space for them to play in it. Adults can be by the bed and they can still keep and eye at the bathtub area. Overall, it’s worth for couple and family.

Okay, so maybe we’re a little biased ’cause this hotel is home to Ginette: an affordable French resto we’ve raved about. But food aside, the hotel deserves its own fanbase. Though rooms (sized between 11 to 27 sqm) are petite, the eclectic interiors are one-of-a-kind, with grey walls, wooden furnishings and bright accents. Bonus points for its in-house gym and convenient location between Dhoby Ghaut and Bugis.
Client Testimonial:
Came here for 3 days 2 night stay with family. Taken the standard room, quite small but serve its purpose with decent bed, washroom, toiletries etc for night stay as we didn’t spend too much time at hotel. Hot water need to take from water dispenser outside the rooms. Breakfast that comes together is provided by 25 Degree with several breakfast options with choice of tea or coffee.

I walked in to my solo stay with all expectations met and exceeded as my mind was enthralled with nature to my right and city vibes to my left. Took a breather (and some photos) as I laid on the comfy and spacious bed to begin the process of unwinding. If value-for-money had a cousin, Clover would be it. I cannot begin to describe the remarkable attention to details from the bathroom to the pleasing aesthetics on the wall to the cute coffee table. Yet still encapsulating an atmosphere of gleeful relaxation. Room turned cool in minutes with a 20°c temp and low fan mode selected. Hotel surely takes care of your privacy as well with a divider between bathroom and toilet. Room amenities like the slippers, towels, soap and coffee also add to the smile in your heart. Hit your data cap for the month? No worries as there is free WiFi available for light use 🙂 Overall a five star first impression and highly recommended for travellers looking to stretch their dollar. Thank you by the way to Firdaus for the smooth check-in process

There’s lots to do in the neighborhood surrounding the Porcelain Hotel, from excellent restaurants to a unique indie bookstore. But first, let’s speak about this little sanctuary. The hotel’s interior and exterior (which is made up of a collection of neighboring shophouses) are covered in traditional Chinese porcelain and chinoiserie designs from the Qing and Ming dynasties with a contemporary twist. All rooms feature similar porcelain patterns, although we recommend the Theme Suite for its clean white appearance. Not to mention that en-suite bathroom’s bathtub!

This hotel, which is decked out in rustic wood and relieved with recycled furniture such as bike wheel bar stools, reeks of the area’s history as a warehouse and industrial sector. The hotel lobby, with its lofty ceilings and cement-washed walls, exudes a fuss-free aesthetic from the outset. The focal point is a meeting table with a glass top that doubles as an industrial homage. Subtle touches of dynamism are added to the room with brass light fixtures and wooden panelling, while wide, open spaces paneled in wood and lit with natural light provide a relaxing atmosphere so visitors can disconnect from the urbanized corporate grind.

Previously, an iconic warehouse dating from the 1890s, the meticulously reconstructed manor house has a modern aesthetic. It’s an excellent place to people-watch and take in the views of the riverbank.
Key Differentiators:
- Modern design interior
- Offers rooftop infinity pool
Client Testimonial:
This place is stunning! Prior to staying here, we used to pass by this place and when you take a peek inside, it will have this low light atmosphere – dark almost – that would remind you of speakeasies. That really got us curious and just had to book. The interior and theme is well thought out (inspired by underground activities of 1890s). It is whimsical and you have to have the right amount of humour to appreciate its naughty side. Our room is overlooking the river which is just a refreshing sight. The staff is so attentive and lovely. The bar has nice bar bites and fun cocktails and their restaurant also serves lovely food. And if you feel like going out, it’s not too crowded in the neighborhood, just the right amount of people chilling around. Would love to go back!

Address | 150 Cantonment Road, Singapore 089762 |

Hmlet Cantonment is the coolest co-living space in town, with a minimalist color scheme, indoor plants, and natural elements straight from a Pinterest mood board. The restored heritage site of Hmlet Cantonment is taken over by a modern-day replica, keeping its vintage features including the original staircase with terrazzo handrails and feature walls to retain its historic character. Not only that, the co-living facility also has a common cafeteria, yoga and fitness center, an outside garden lounge, and a plunge pool.
Key Differentiators:
- Known for its trendiest co-living space
- Provides different amenities to enjoy
Client Testimonial:
A hotel with great bones, designed with great taste. Walls were relatively soundproof. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Its location is great, being near 2 train stations and lots of amenities. WiFi was stable and fast.
Rooms were on the cleaner side, toilet bowl in particular was sparkling. However, upholstery in the premises weren’t that well maintained-armchair in the room had a huge liquid stain on the seat.
Common areas such as the pantry were quite dirty, and the laundromat smelled mouldy. 1 dryer cycle on high heat isn’t enough to dry a small load of clothes and we had to hang it all to dry in our room still.
You’ll have to get water from the common pantry as a kettle isn’t provided in the room. Beware of the ice machines, some of them look unsanitary.
Getting in and out of the premises, especially when raining, was extremely inconvenient and perhaps even dangerous. They have locked the side entrance of the compound, so the only way to walk in is through the car park gantry, where there are blind spots and little space to walk.
Housekeeping is only done twice a week.
There’s much to be desired about staying here- given the price, you could get a full-service hotel stay. This feels more like a pricey hostel if you ask me.

Hotel Indigo is not your average boutique hotel. The charming property, which was previously the Joo Chiat Police Station, pays homage to Peranakan history. Vintage-style tiles and pieces of art adorn the interiors. Meanwhile, the restaurant Baba Chews Bar and Eatery serves Malaccan cuisine. Its Katong presence is also a big plus in our opinion. We propose spending the whole day exploring the street art, pre-war shophouses, coffee shops, and eateries that contribute to the neighborhood’s thriving historic culture.
Key Differentiators:
- Provides charming space and pays homage to Peranakan heritage
- Its restaurants offers Malacca cuisine
Client Testimonial:
Loved the room and the amazing breakfast. The view is amazing and the pool is lovely too!

Scarlet Singapore is one of the oldest on the list, having first opened in 2004 to great acclaim. Rooms at the hotel are opulent and sensual (we’re talking leopard print, patent leather, and python), with stunning colors of precious gems and elegant décor. After a thrilling day, end your night on the town with a visit to adjacent rooftop restaurants for breezy cocktails and snacks before relaxing in your love nest’s private jacuzzi tub (only accessible in the Passion Suite) for some cuddling… and more.
Key Differentiators:
- Known as one of the oldest hotels on this list
- Provides intimate and lavish decor rooms
Client Testimonial:
Had a great staycation here. Room is clean and tidy. The walkway to hotel room is dark and quiet though but you get a good nights sleep. Colonial luxury style and yet heritage theme, go for the room with balcony if available so its bigger. Room came with high ceiling and you get to see morning sun ray. The breakfast is good too.

There’s a lovely outside pool with a poolside bar and restaurant, as well as a well-equipped gym.

The best 4 star hotel we’ve stayed in Singapore! It’s even better than some of the 5 stars hotel. The bed and room is one of a kind. My spouse and I were very satisfied with the service and staycation. Would definitely recommend couples and family to consider this hotel as their top few choices!! 🙂

Client Testimonial:
I love the space, for its location, able to cook simple food and easy self check in. The space is also cozy enough for a chill staycation. The only thing is the toilet has this sweaty smell which I got a fragrance card to put inside to just mask the smell a bit. It is something the management can consider to put in order to help get rid of that smell. Other than that, all is good!
