“Great place to stop for a drink when the weather’s not too hot. Outdoor seating is nice if there’s not much crowds. Usually it gets a lot busier at night! Most people get the beer during the happy hours. Other than beer they also serve a variety of drinks. Staffs are quite attentive. Good service in general. There’s also a lot of small shops around this area if you have time to explore.”

‘Went to the bar for a celebration on Saturday night (12/12/20), and was served by Von. The ambience of the bar was great for a date night, and the service was impeccable. We want to extend our gratitude towards Von especially, who decided on the drinks for us when we couldn’t, and her choices were perfect to each of our liking. Amazing experience, would definitely return!”

“Hidden away in Dempsey – this gem of a place deserves not one visit, but several. A healthy mix of jazz music, dim lighting and art pieces showcasing surrealism lend a behind-the-scenes and clandestine vibe to this bar. The manager – Jack was extremely hospitable to us few who dropped in without a reservation. Looking forward to exploring (and enjoying) Maduro’s fine range of exquisite whiskeys and lounge back in a Chesterfield sofa with a Montecristo.”

“Exactly what you’d think of when you think of a jazz bar. Behind the heavy door is a wide open room filled with plush sofas and chairs and chic decor. The acoustics and audio system in the place is much better than many other bars out there and does the musicians justice. Good music aside, the cocktails are fantastic. Creative and well-executed, you’re unlikely to find similar drinks (unless it’s the classics) elsewhere. As a bonus, the drinks are all inspired by some significant jazz historical event. The snacks menu is mostly seafood-focused, you won’t find your fries here. But that’s okay, their chili cashews and freshly toasted, warm and flavorful that you won’t miss the overpriced truffle fries.”

“Edgy, whacky, definitely a unique experience. On a Friday, there is live music, DJ, live singing, interspersed with countertop dancing and live bongo drums. Very good crowd. Many mid 30s to early 40s expats and we heard some 70s 80s remixes as well. Post 1 AM got to hear very cool dance music. No entry fee but you should dress “appropriately” to enter. Cocktails range from 20 to 35 $. Definitely recommended.”

At this hidden dining spot, which is located in the basement of a home on Boulevard Saint-Germain, you’ll eat like royalty. Individually plated and perfectly seasoned Italian dishes are served by chef Luigi Calcagno such as the Signor Monti ($52), a grilled monkfish fillet wrapped in pancetta, and the risotto cacio e pepe ($39) that is finished in a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano, topped with black truffle tableside.
Every night at 9 p.m., resident DJs Adam Sky, Stephen Day, Tirso Garcia, and Victoria offer sets that will take you from dinner to cocktails in no time. Try the Mr Monti ($22), a classic highball consisting of white rum, freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, grapefruit tonic, and basil leaves.
- Swanky Italian themed location
- Offers a wide variety of food
- Live Band Performance
“This place is impressive, from the food to the service. The burst of flavours when eating the mains is really indescribable. Some places rely on their views/ambience rather than focus on the menu and food, but Monti is impeccable in all aspects. The view, service, ambience and most importantly, food, were amazing. They told us that they spent the past 2 years perfecting their lunch menu, and I must say it was a job well done.
Went for a celebration, had a nice relaxed lunch. Kudos and thank you to the team!”
