Funtopia is a mass escape room played entirely from your seats. Participants are grouped into teams of 5 to 10 per table, and every table plays at the same time using a combination of physical puzzle kits and digital gameplay. Some puzzles are solved within your own team, while cross-team challenges require tables to negotiate and share evidence with each other – so the whole room is working on one case together, not sitting in separate bubbles.
Participants step into Clawford City, where each table represents a powerful House. During a grand council gathering one of the leaders mysteriously falls, and every House becomes a suspect. Teams receive confidential evidence and must solve puzzles, uncover clues and piece together what happened – while defending their own House from suspicion. No House holds every piece of the puzzle, so teams have to decide who to trust and what to trade to reach the truth before time runs out.
Sessions start from a minimum of 10 participants and scale to several hundred. Because all teams play simultaneously from their tables, adding more people means adding more tables rather than extending the schedule or running multiple sessions.
Only enough for banquet seating. Funtopia was designed for groups that have plenty of people but limited room – a ballroom, function room or conference hall works, and no breakout rooms or open floor space are required.
For groups under 40 the game is self-guided using an instructional video, with the option to add a facilitator for $100 if you would prefer one. Groups of 40 and above include a facilitator as standard, with additional facilitators added as headcount grows.
A standard session runs 1.5 hours from briefing to the final reveal. Because every team plays at once, the duration stays the same whether you have 20 participants or 200.
Banquet-style seating at roughly 10 people per table, a projector and a microphone. We bring everything else, including all puzzle kits and materials.
Yes – it was built for exactly these. The seated format fits an existing banquet layout without rearranging the room, and the 1.5-hour runtime slots into a dinner or conference programme. The cross-team challenges are particularly useful at a D&D or company-wide event, because they force interaction between tables that would otherwise spend the whole night talking only to their own department.
