Although it may be a bit far from Somerset, this cozy Korean eatery must be on the list.
Do not be fooled by its unassuming appearance. She may look like she belongs in a school cafeteria, yet she can prepare a variety of meals that are uniquely Korean. In fact, an aunt (known as a “ahjumma” in South Korea) started Kim Dae Mun, which explains the restaurant’s genuine and cozy flavors.
Key Differentiators
- Tasty and authentic Korean food
- Without breaking the bank
- Cozy, homey flavors
Customer Testimonial
Totally didn’t expect this at all! Some said it’s like foodcourt quality but aside from the banchan (side dishes), the quality and quantity of the food here, especially the anchovy rice ball, fresh green pepper, ayam geprek, and salted egg, is amazing. I mean, the portion & taste, not bad! It’s definitely better than foodcourt quality, a notch higher than foodcourt. Though the 사장님 (boss) is fierce, you know she’s a sweet lady~ Bottomline is like 2PM sang it, “I’ll be back…”

You cannot possibly miss their enormous percentage sign at 313@Somerset. A Japanese coffee chain called %Arabica has gained recognition on a global scale.
Their Single Origin Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Adado Grade 1 coffee is particularly acceptable for individuals who do not like “bitter” coffee because of its light and milky body. On the other hand, their blend of Arabica features strong fruity overtones. A Hot Cafe Latte is a tad more expensive.
Key Differentiators
- Story begins in Tokyo, Japan

Customer Testimonial
Free smells at this lovely coffee joint are the best, but what genuinely makes %Arabica so good is their amazing selection of coffees. We went for their iced cafe latte (SGD8 each) and enjoyed every sip of it.
There’s almost always a queue, but the staff is very efficient and waiting time is always reasonable. We waited for around 10min on a Sunday afternoon.
Highly recommended!

The Signature Wagyu Beef Bowl, which originated in Amoy Street Food Centre, is now available at Gyu Nami.
It is a fairly straightforward dish made up of just a few ingredients: thin slices of medium-rare wagyu beef, a sous-vide egg, and yogurt sauce piled atop rice to resemble a miniature volcano. The flavors are mild on the palate, helped by the sauce’s acidity (sour cream) and the hint of pepper on the beef rib stew.

Back here for the first time in a couple of years, and loved it! Now 27 beer taps (I counted them) and the yakitori is great, although it can take a little while for all the items to arrive. Staff are friendly, just wave if you need service rather than using the QR code. Great to hang out for a while, have a beer and people watch!

I have seen this restaurant around for awhile now and finally decided to give it a try. It surprises me alot! I had the seafood risotto while my husband had beef cha pong. Both seems to be using the same base and its shiok! Seriously spicy for level 2 pong but the lychee yogurt drink helped soothe my tongue inbetween each mouthful of chewy sweet potato noodles glistening with the rich broth. Will definitely go for it again! 🙂
